Stephen Barlow

It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of Stephen Barlow earlier this week.

When he retired in 2015 he had been a tutor for Watercolours for twenty years and also for Spanish for five of these.

His amusing painting of members eager to get to enrolment at the Town Hall was featured on the back cover of the prospectus for 2010-2011. – see below.

Amendment to the constitution

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 2019 it was decided to add a sentence to the constitution regarding the election of the Chair and Vice Chair – namely –

Where there is more than one nomination for either post, election will be by secret ballot and by one-committee-member-one-vote.

The revised constitution can be viewed here on the website and on the main Cleckheaton U3A notice board in Cleckheaton Town Hall.
