Subjects covered will reflect the interests and choices of the group.
The first topic will be the Peterloo Massacre 1819. Then Bradford in the 1930s will be revisited using some of the material from J B Priestley’s ‘English Journey’, a masterpiece of contemporary history and controversial at the time.
Other avenues of study may include an analysis of George Orwell’s economic and social observations as documented in the seminal ‘Road To Wigan Pier’ and ‘Down and Out in Paris and London’.
